Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to work full-time day shift from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
- Availability to work every other weekend
- Experience in a housekeeping or environmental services role preferred but not mandatory
- Ability to interact kindly and professionally with patients, families, and hospital staff
- Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and safety procedures preferred
- Ability to perform physical cleaning tasks including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods
- Must comply with Corewell Health's vaccine requirements for on-site work

Job Duties
- Interact comfortably with patients, families, and visitors presenting a warm smile and friendly demeanor
- Clean patient rooms daily including sanitizing all surfaces and removing trash and linen
- Clean ancillary areas such as nurses' stations, med rooms, pantries, utility rooms, storage rooms, waiting rooms, locker rooms, break rooms, offices
- Clean specialty areas including OR suites, pre-op and post-op areas, emergency department, intensive care units, labor delivery units, pediatric units, mental health units, oncology, radiology, labs, physical therapy, pharmacy, geriatrics, and kitchen areas
- Perform basic cleaning tasks such as vacuuming, dust mopping, damp mopping, low and high dusting, stocking supplies, removing trash and soiled linen, delivering clean linen
- Use appropriate chemicals and follow safety guidelines when performing tasks
- Participate actively in safety initiatives and complete all safety-related competencies on time
