Job Requirements

  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • Able to comfortably interact with patients, families, and visitors
  • Able to perform cleaning and sanitizing tasks as assigned
  • Willingness to work rotating shifts including every other weekend
  • Commitment to adhering to safety and infection control protocols
  • Ability to participate in and complete safety training and competencies
  • Compliance with vaccine requirements for on-site or hybrid workplace
  • Able to perform physical cleaning tasks

Job Duties

  • Interact with patients, families, and visitors with a warm smile and friendly demeanor
  • Clean patient rooms daily including sanitizing surfaces, washing walls and windows, removing trash and linen, and cleaning restrooms
  • Clean ancillary areas such as nurses' stations, med rooms, pantries, utility rooms, storage rooms, waiting rooms, locker rooms, break rooms, and offices
  • Clean specialty hospital areas including OR suites, pre-op and post-op areas, emergency department, intensive care units, labor delivery units, pediatric units, mental health units, oncology, radiology, labs, therapy areas, pharmacy, geriatrics, and kitchen areas
  • Perform basic cleaning tasks including vacuuming, dust mopping, damp mopping, low and high dusting, stocking supplies, removing trash and soiled linen, and delivering clean linen
  • Use appropriate chemicals and follow guidelines for cleaning tasks while adhering to safety and infection control standards
  • Participate actively in safety initiatives and complete all required safety-related competencies and requirements on time
