Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • at least one year of cleaning experience or related work experience
  • valid Wisconsin driver’s license
  • ability to pass FBI background check
  • knowledge of housekeeping cleaning methods and equipment
  • physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds with assistance and perform duties involving standing, walking, climbing, bending, and reaching
  • effective communication skills
  • ability to operate cleaning machines and maintain equipment
  • adherence to safety and infection control standards
  • ability to work scheduled hours including alternating weekends

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • minimum one year of cleaning experience or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
  • knowledge of housekeeping methods, materials, and equipment
  • ability to complete required in-services and annual education
  • understanding of infection control, standard precautions, disinfectants, and HIPAA
  • knowledge of safety standards and ability to adhere to them
  • ability to operate and maintain housekeeping equipment
  • effective oral and written communication skills
  • ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions
  • ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with residents, clients, staff, and the public
  • ability to work the required hours
  • valid Wisconsin driver’s license
  • ability to pass FBI background check

Job Duties

  • Cleans and extracts carpets and upholstered furniture
  • cleans, scrubs, strips, and waxes floors
  • dusts, washes, and polishes furniture, equipment, and building surfaces
  • disinfects as required
  • operates mechanical and electrical cleaning equipment including buffers, wringers, scrubbers, extractors, and vacuums
  • cleans and maintains equipment and requests repairs as needed
  • reports safety hazards to supervisors
  • climbs ladders to clean high areas
  • collects and disposes of waste and recycling materials
  • arranges furniture for meetings and events
  • maintains awareness of safety and quality assurance standards
  • maintains required documentation
  • maintains good public relations with other departments
  • operates vehicles responsibly
  • assumes additional responsibilities as needed
  • performs related functions as assigned
