Job Requirements
- high school diploma or equivalent preferred
- ability to stand for prolonged periods
- ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 35 pounds occasionally with assisted devices
- must be able to understand and communicate in English effectively
- ability to follow safety protocols and hospital cleaning standards
- availability to work Monday to Friday schedule including rotating weekends and holidays
- willingness to perform physically demanding tasks such as bending, stooping, crouching, kneeling, and climbing occasionally
- willingness to assist nursing staff in case of community disaster
Job Qualifications
- high school diploma or equivalent preferred
- ability to understand and converse in English at a level allowing safe and efficient job performance
- knowledge of and adherence to I C.A.R.E. standards
- manual dexterity and ability to stand for long periods
- ability to perform environmental services tasks and follow departmental guidelines
- competence in using proper cleaning chemicals
- ability to perform emergency spill cleaning
- teamwork orientation and service focus toward staff and patients
Job Duties
- Perform daily and discharge cleaning including bed-making, wall-spotting, toilet cleaning, high/low dusting, and operating room terminal cleaning
- maintain a professional and safe work environment using caution signs and cones
- complete unfinished tasks from previous shifts and report maintenance or assignment issues
- clean up organic waste such as blood, body fluids, feces, sputum per supervisor instructions
- install cubicle, shower, and window curtains as needed
- disinfect and sanitize IV poles, pumps, and other patient equipment upon discharge
- learn and implement new healthcare-related cleaning procedures
