Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Ability to understand and converse in English adequately
  • Must adhere to IC.A.R.E. Standards
  • Manual dexterity and prolonged standing ability
  • Must follow department cleaning guidelines
  • Ability to perform cleaning tasks using prescribed methods
  • Competent with cleaning chemicals
  • Must be able to clean emergency spills
  • Physical ability to lift, carry, push, pull, stoop, kneel, crouch, climb occasionally
  • Ability to use fine and gross motor skills frequently
  • Constant use of vision, feeling, talking, and hearing
  • Must work onsite at 1153 Centre Street
  • Availability to work Monday to Friday with rotating weekends and holidays
  • Regular full-time employment
  • Physical capacity to lift 35lbs with assisted device

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Ability to understand and converse in English for safe job performance
  • Knowledge of IC.A.R.E. Standards
  • Manual dexterity and ability to stand for long periods
  • Competent in using proper chemicals for cleaning tasks
  • Ability to perform basic and heavier cleaning functions
  • Demonstrated service orientation to employees, staff, and patients
  • Experience with environmental services tasks in healthcare settings
  • Ability to clean patient equipment including beds and furnishings
  • Able to assist in special setups and moves as required

Job Duties

  • Perform daily and discharge cleaning including bed-making and wall-spotting
  • Clean toilets, and perform high and low dusting
  • Conduct operating room terminal cleaning
  • Maintain a professional and safe work environment using caution signs and cones
  • Complete unfinished tasks from previous shifts and report maintenance issues
  • Clean up organic waste as instructed
  • Install cubicle, shower, and window curtains
  • Disinfect and sanitize patient equipment upon discharge
  • Learn and implement new healthcare cleaning procedures
  • Assist in manpower support for office moves and special event set-ups
  • Perform emergency spill clean-up as requested
  • Support nursing in disaster situations by making extra beds and assisting as assigned
