Job Requirements
- high school diploma or equivalent preferred
- ability to understand and converse in English at level necessary for safe efficient job performance
- manual dexterity and physical stamina to stand for prolonged periods
- ability to follow department guidelines and safety protocols
- competency in using cleaning chemicals properly
- capability to handle and clean organic waste safely
- willingness to work rotating weekends and holidays
- physical ability to lift and carry 35lbs or more with assistance
- onsite work at 1153 Centre Street
- availability for full-time 40 hours per week day shift
- commitment to safety and professional conduct
Job Qualifications

- requires manual dexterity and ability to stand for long periods
- demonstrates ability to follow department guidelines related to the work
- performs basic and heavier cleaning functions in assigned areas following established schedules and using prescribed methods
- performs environmental services tasks demonstrating service orientation to fellow employees staff and patients
- competent in using proper chemicals for proper tasks
- ability to perform cleaning of emergency spills when observed and/or upon request
- assists nursing in making up extra beds and other duties as assigned in community disaster
Job Duties
- perform daily and discharge cleaning including bed-making wall-spotting toilet cleaning and O.R. terminal cleaning
- maintain a professional and safe work environment using caution signs and cones
- complete unfinished tasks from previous shifts and report maintenance or assignment issues
- clean up organic waste such as blood body fluids feces sputum per supervisor instructions
- install cubicle shower and window curtains as needed
- disinfect and sanitize IV poles pumps and other patient equipment upon discharge
- learn and implement new cleaning procedures related to healthcare standards
