Job Requirements
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Ability to work rotating shifts including weekends
- Willingness to comply with Corewell Health vaccine requirements
- Ability to use cleaning chemicals safely
- Physical capability to perform cleaning duties
- Strong communication skills
- Previous experience in a housekeeping or custodial role preferred

Job Duties
- Interact comfortably with patients, families and visitors with a warm and friendly demeanor
- Perform daily and routine maintenance of hospital flooring including carpets and hard surfaces
- Strip, scrub, refinish and buff hard floor surfaces as needed
- Shampoo and extract carpets and upholstery, vacuum, sweep, dust and damp mop
- Maintain mats including replacement where required
- Perform detail cleaning of walls, doors, frames, and kick plates
- Conduct terminal cleaning of operating rooms and other surgical areas
- Carry out daily maintenance of cleaning equipment
- Remove trash and soiled linen and deliver clean linen where required
- Stock cleaning supplies and materials
- Use appropriate chemicals and follow safety guidelines while performing cleaning tasks
