Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- ability to work full-time evening shifts from 2:30 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.
- availability to work Monday to Friday with every other weekend
- capability to follow safety and chemical handling protocols
- physical ability to perform cleaning and maintenance tasks
- willingness to interact positively with patients, visitors, and staff
- compliance with Corewell Health's vaccination and drug-free workplace policies
Job Qualifications
- High school graduate or equivalent
- good communication skills for interacting with patients and visitors
- ability to follow cleaning protocols and safety guidelines
- previous experience in janitorial or housekeeping roles preferred
- basic knowledge of chemical use and equipment maintenance
- ability to work evening shifts including every other weekend
- capacity to stand, walk, and perform physical cleaning tasks
Job Duties
- Comfortably interact with patients, families, and visitors presenting a warm smile and friendly demeanor
- perform daily and routine maintenance of hospital flooring including carpets, tile, and other hard surfaces
- strip, scrub, refinish, and buff hard floor surfaces such as tile and linoleum including associated detail work
- shampoo and extract carpets and upholstery, vacuum, sweep, dust, and damp mop floors
- handle mat care and replacement where required
- conduct detail cleaning of walls, doors, frames, and kick plates
- complete terminal cleaning of OR and other surgical areas
- perform daily maintenance of equipment
- remove trash and soiled linen and deliver clean linen where required
- stock supplies
- use appropriate chemicals following guidelines when performing cleaning tasks ensuring safety and compliance
