Job Requirements
- Must be able to respond quickly to alarms
- Prolonged periods of walking and/or standing
- Requires bending, stooping, reaching and moving light furniture
- Ability to lift up to 70 pounds
- Exposure to chemicals requiring personal protective equipment or safety equipment
- Spending over 95 percent of time in air-conditioned environment with varying exposure to noise
- Protection from weather conditions
- Interaction with residents, family members and other staff under all conditions
- Exposure to medical waste and unsanitary conditions, odors, and hazardous chemicals
- Ability to push/pull housekeeping cart, mop and bucket, vacuum, use of floor equipment, climbing ladder to 6 or 8 feet
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma preferred
- One to two years in housekeeping preferred
- Ability to listen, write, and speak effectively preferred
- Knowledge of infection control policies
- Thorough understanding of operating cleaning methods and equipments
- Friendly and approachable attitude
Job Duties
- Clean assigned areas, furnishings, and fixtures according to established housekeeping procedures
- Respond to emergencies, special needs and clean after spills or accidents as required or directed
- Communicate and respond to issues and problems in a timely and efficient manner
- Communicate issues or concerns to leadership that may require quality monitoring
- Clean mirrors, sinks and toilets in common area restrooms according to prescribed sanitary standards
- Remove debris or trash from the front of the building, driveways, and all common areas inside or out
- Wash, dust, polish, vacuum and sweep all areas of the lobby and commons area including the Front Desk, elevators and administrative offices and corridors, bathrooms
- Periodically check and restock all supplies including toilet paper, soap and hand towels in common area restrooms
- Report observations concerning structural and equipment wear, defects and malfunctioning to supervisor
- Listen and respond to resident, guest and staff requests and inquiries
- Stock and clean storage area for equipment and supplies
- Maintain all equipment used in clean, organize & performing duties
- Following safety and infection control procedures
- Perform other housekeeping related tasks as assigned
- SNF & ALU floors
