Job Requirements
- ability to read, write and speak English
- high school graduate or equivalent education preferred
- minimum one year housekeeping experience in a healthcare setting desired
- must be able to lift and/or carry up to 40 pounds
- willingness to perform routine, repetitive tasks with frequent interruptions
- ability to work flexible hours including weekends, holidays, and emergencies
- verbal and writing communication skills necessary
- motor coordination and manual dexterity to operate housekeeping equipment
- must be patient and tolerant
Job Qualifications
- ability to read, write and speak English

- general knowledge of cleaning and infection prevention
- verbal and writing abilities necessary to communicate and work effectively with staff, patients, family members, and the public
- motor coordination and manual dexterity required to operate housekeeping equipment
- willingness to perform routine, repetitive tasks with frequent interruptions
- ability to read, understand, and follow directions and work assignments
- able and willing to work flexible hours including emergency situations
- must be patient and tolerant toward staff, patients, and family members
Job Duties
- provide daily housekeeping duties as assigned per standard operating procedures
- closely follow daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning schedules
- clean floors including dust mop, wet mop, sweeping and vacuuming
- clean furnishings including moveable and stationary throughout the facility
- clean fixtures including restroom, light fixtures, water fountains
- dust, disinfect, and clean horizontal surfaces throughout the facility
- remove trash and clean/disinfect waste containers
- clean and disinfect restrooms in resident rooms and public spaces
- clean public spaces including corridors, stairwells, elevators, waiting rooms, lobby
- clean equipment and work areas as assigned by manager
- be knowledgeable of federal, state, and facility rules, regulations, policies and procedures
- attend in-service educational programs
- follow defined safety codes while performing duties
- understand facility’s fire and disaster plans and follow procedures during drills and emergencies
- perform other duties assigned by housekeeping or EVS designee
