Job Qualifications

  • Use tracking and communication tools utilized by the department
  • Ability to work independently
  • One to three years of environmental services experience in healthcare or hospitality preferred

Job Duties

  • Clean and maintain patient rooms, offices, public areas, and treatment rooms daily
  • Collect and remove trash, change bed linens, and sanitize all surfaces
  • Follow policies and procedures on patient isolation and contact precautions
  • Stock paper items and other supplies in assigned areas as needed
  • Maintain cart and equipment in clean, working condition and store appropriately
  • Promote safety by using wet floor signs, PPE, and securing housekeeping carts
  • Use chemicals and equipment safely and effectively, including proper dilution and labeling
  • Notify supervisor of equipment repairs and report safety hazards
  • Communicate issues proactively and report work requests
  • Maintain confidentiality of patient information while establishing interpersonal relationships
  • Use service scripting models effectively with customers
  • Utilize organizational and departmental resources efficiently
  • Manage work schedule and complete tasks on time
  • Contribute to continuous improvement and cost reduction efforts
  • Present a friendly, professional demeanor
  • Provide accurate information and assist patients and customers
  • Use service recovery skills to resolve problems
  • Demonstrate teamwork and effective communication with diverse colleagues
