Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to perform physical tasks associated with cleaning duties
- Knowledge of proper cleaning chemicals and hazard waste handling
- Good communication skills
- Ability to work flexible day shift hours
- Adherence to infection control standards and procedures
Job Qualifications
- One to three months related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Previous hospital experience preferred but not required
Job Duties
- Performs routine cleaning of patient rooms, nursing units, offices, clinical areas, waiting areas, lobbies, lounges, rest rooms, corridors, elevators and stairways in a clean, neat and sanitary manner
- Utilizes the appropriate chemicals and supplies according to procedure
- Transports trash and hazardous waste to appropriate disposal area
- Follows all infection control practices including hand hygiene techniques, standard precautions and isolation precautions
- Participates in performance improvement activities
- Maintains cleanliness standards in accordance with hospital policies and safety regulations
- Ensures timely and efficient completion of cleaning tasks
