Job Requirements

  • Physical condition allowing for lifting up to 50 pounds, bending, stooping, reaching, grabbing, pushing, pulling, standing or walking entire shift
  • Use of arms and hands with dexterity
  • Ability to read, write and understand directions
  • Ability to communicate in English friendly to residents and coworkers
  • Ability to pay attention to a variety of details at one time
  • Ability to show warmth, love and compassion
  • Dependability and punctuality
  • Preference for routine and repetitive activities

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Housekeeping experience in a long term care facility preferred
  • Ability to communicate in English in a friendly manner
  • Ability to pay attention to multiple details
  • Ability to show warmth, love and compassion
  • Dependability and punctuality
  • Comfort working in a Christian retirement center environment
  • Adherence to Fairhaven policies and procedures
  • Ability to work routine and repetitive activities

Job Duties

  • Implements housekeeping procedures to meet residents needs in compliance with department procedures, Fairhaven policies and regulations
  • Stocks supplies on carts and in assigned store rooms
  • Cleans and organizes resident rooms, public areas and duplexes following proper procedures
  • Notifies supervisor when supplies are needed or equipment needs repair
  • Follows facility safety procedures and Safety Data Sheets
  • Works in other Support Services areas and assists other departments as assigned
  • Responds as needed in emergencies
  • Reports unusual resident conditions to supervisor
  • Participates in creating an atmosphere of privacy, dignity, cleanliness and safety
  • Safeguards privacy and confidentiality of resident health care information
  • Acts as a customer service representative and public relations ambassador
  • Interacts positively with all residents to promote a homelike environment
  • Maintains and safely uses supplies and equipment
  • Maintains sanitary conditions and follows infection control procedures
  • Reports incidents of abuse or neglect immediately
  • Protects personal belongings of each resident
  • Completes all in-service training requirements
  • Completes all duties and tasks as assigned
