Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Experience working in a long term care facility preferred
  • Fluent in written and spoken English
  • Ability to read and understand procedure and instruction manuals and directions
  • Basic math skills
  • Ability to solve practical problems and interpret instructions
  • Physical ability to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
  • Ability to sit, kneel, stand, walk, talk, read and hear during work
  • Use of housekeeping supplies and equipment
  • Ability to follow safety protocols and use caution signage appropriately

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Experience working in a long term care facility preferred

  • Ability to read and understand procedure and instruction manuals and directions
  • Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables
  • Ability to interpret instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form

Job Duties

  • Maintain all public and common areas throughout the day including lobby, restrooms, drinking fountains and floors
  • Maintain the cleanliness of resident rooms and bathrooms
  • Maintain handrails to ensure they are clean and free of debris
  • Clean and remove dust, dirt or food off walls, mirrors, windows, light fixtures, towel bars, towel dispensers
  • Empty trash cans and replace liners
  • Sweep and mop floors
  • Utilize proper safety measures when cleaning, including the use of caution signage and keeping supplies and chemicals out of reach of the residents
  • Maintain housekeeping carts, equipment and storage areas in a safe, sanitary, clean and orderly manner
  • Notify management regarding resident safety issues or concerns
  • Notify housekeeping management when supplies need replenishment
