Job Requirements
- Ability to read, write and speak English
- high school graduate or equivalent education is preferred
- minimum one year housekeeping experience in a healthcare setting is desired
- verbal and writing abilities necessary to communicate effectively with staff, patients, family members and the public
- motor coordination and manual dexterity to operate housekeeping equipment
- willingness to perform routine repetitive tasks with frequent interruptions
- ability to read, understand, and follow directions and work assignments
- able and willing to work flexible hours including emergencies
- patient and tolerant toward staff, patients and family members

Job Duties
- Provides daily housekeeping duties as assigned per standard operating procedures
- closely follows daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning schedules
- cleans floors including dust mop, wet mop, sweeping and vacuuming
- cleans furnishings which are both moveable and stationary throughout the facility including fixtures such as restrooms, light fixtures, and water fountains
- dusts, disinfects horizontal surfaces throughout the facility
- removes trash and cleans/disinfects waste containers
- cleans and disinfects restrooms in both resident rooms and public spaces
- cleans public spaces including corridors, stairwells, elevators, waiting rooms, and lobby
- cleans equipment and work areas as assigned by manager
- attends in-service educational programs
- follows defined safety codes while performing all duties
- understands and follows facility’s fire and disaster plans
- performs other department duties as assigned by housekeeping/EVS or designee
