Job Requirements
- Ability to read and write to understand labels, order supplies, and complete inventories
- high school graduate preferred
- minimum of six months hospital housekeeping or janitorial experience or at least one-year related experience
Job Qualifications
- Good communication skills
- knowledge of housekeeping services related to age-related disability needs
- ability to supervise and work cooperatively with others
- initiative and judgment in maintaining aseptic environments
- knowledge of infection control, safety principles, and shared training
- successful completion of CPR certification
- completion of an Oceans approved behavioral health de-escalation program
Job Duties
- Clean and sanitize all facility areas according to established policies
- clean and disinfect patients' rooms and baths daily
- perform terminal cleaning after patient transfer or discharge
- clean and maintain nursing stations, non-patient care areas, restrooms, laundry rooms, dining and sitting rooms
- dust, mop, buff, strip, wax hard floors and shampoo carpets as needed
- follow infection control and universal precautions protocols
- manage clean linen distribution and soiled linen containment
- dispose of biohazard and other waste following proper procedures
- clean, maintain, and monitor housekeeping equipment
- monitor and order linens cost-effectively
- report broken or defective equipment and complete work repair requests
- perform other assigned housekeeping duties and projects
