Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience in housekeeping preferred
- Ability to operate cleaning and laundry equipment
- Knowledge of infection control and safety protocols
- Ability to perform physically demanding cleaning tasks
- Attention to detail and good organizational skills
- Ability to work flexible hours as needed
Job Qualifications
- High school graduate or equivalent preferred
- Previous housekeeping experience in a commercial, clinical, or healthcare environment preferred
- Knowledge of cleaning equipment such as buffers, scrubbers, and commercial washers
- Understanding of infection control standards
- Ability to follow safety instructions and use MSDS guidelines
- Good organizational skills for inventory management
- Capable of managing time efficiently and working independently
Job Duties
- Performs specific cleaning and custodial tasks in the general upkeep, sanitation and cleanliness of the facility
- Conducts daily cleaning of the facility including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, polishing of fixtures, general straightening, and cleaning of bathrooms
- Cleans facility rooms, baths, laboratories, offices and halls
- Utilizes buffers, scrubbers, sweepers and carpet cleaning equipment as necessary
- Washes bed frames, brushes mattresses and remakes beds after discharge of patients
- Keeps utility and storage rooms in neat and orderly conditions
- Operates commercial washers and dryers and launders soiled linens
- Attends to infection control standards, transports soiled linen to storage area and distributes laundered articles and items
- Sweeps, scrubs, waxes and polishes floors with attention to slips and fall risks
- Cleans rugs, carpets, upholstered furniture and draperies
- Dusts furniture and equipment
- Washes walls, ceilings, woodwork, windows, door panels and sills
- Empties wastebaskets and transports trash to disposal area
- Disinfects rooms, furniture, fixtures, equipment, and supplies using appropriate germicides
- Conducts daily inventory checks on cleaning cart supplies and linen supplies
- Properly cleans and stores all equipment and supplies after each shift
- Practices standard and universal precautions and environmental safety guidelines
- Prepares rooms for meetings and arranges decorations and furniture for facility functions
