- high school graduate or equivalent preferred
- previous housekeeping experience in commercial, clinical or healthcare environment preferred

Job Duties
- performs specific cleaning and custodial tasks in the general upkeep, sanitation and cleanliness of the facility
- conducts daily cleaning including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, polishing fixtures, straightening, and bathroom cleaning
- cleans facility rooms, baths, laboratories, offices and halls using buffers, scrubbers, sweepers and carpet cleaning equipment
- washes bed frames, brushes mattresses and remakes beds after patient discharge
- keeps utility and storage rooms neat and orderly
- operates commercial washers and dryers and launders soiled linens
- attends to infection control standards including transporting soiled linen and distributing laundered items
- sweeps, scrubs, waxes and polishes floors with attention to slip/fall risks
- cleans rugs, carpets, upholstered furniture and draperies
- washes walls, ceilings, woodwork, windows, door panels and sills
- empties wastebaskets and transports trash to disposal area
- disinfects rooms, furniture, fixtures, equipment and supplies using proper processes and germicides
- conducts daily inventory checks of cleaning cart and linen supply closet
- properly cleans and stores all equipment and supplies after each shift
- practices standard/universal precautions and environmental safety guidelines including MSDS instructions
- prepares rooms for meetings and arranges decorations and furniture for facility functions
