Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • one year related experience or training or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • ability to stand, walk, use hands, reach with hands and arms, talk or hear regularly
  • frequent stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling
  • occasional climbing or balancing
  • ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds occasionally
  • willingness to work during emergencies and inclement weather
  • ability to follow established procedures
  • reliable attendance and punctuality
  • compliance with safety standards and policies
  • ability to maintain confidentiality according to HIPAA
  • willingness to engage in training and team activities

Job Duties

  • Follows established cleaning schedule
  • completes daily dusting, vacuuming, sweeping and mopping of all common areas
  • follows established schedule for deep cleaning of resident rooms
  • cleans administrative offices as scheduled
  • cleans and sanitizes bathrooms
  • cleans carpets and mops all floors upon request
  • maintains a clean, safe, and orderly environment for all residents
  • ensures and supports a dignified and caring atmosphere for residents, families, visitors, and associates
  • responds promptly and courteously to residents, families, and visitors requests for assistance
  • speaks to and interacts with residents showing empathy, kindness, compassion, and respect
  • communicates effectively in a language that each resident understands
  • maintains a safe and secure working environment free of hazards
  • practices good body mechanics and safe working habits
  • observes and reports safety hazards immediately to supervisor
  • provides assistance to associates when requested
  • knows and follows established emergency policies and procedures
  • is considered essential personnel during emergencies and inclement weather
  • works as a team player with other associates and management
  • demonstrates a positive and respectful attitude about work issues, policies, and procedures
  • complies with attendance and call off policy
  • attends and participates in trainings, in-service, and mandatory meetings
  • wears clean and appropriate dress per dress code policy
  • refrains from discussing resident issues with families and visitors
  • knows, understands, and complies with HIPAA regulations
  • provides hands-on assistance when requested by nursing staff
  • participates in leisure activities provided to residents
  • serves and assists residents in the dining room during meals
  • takes on special projects or assignments outside regular duties
  • performs all other reasonable duties as assigned or requested
