Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Minimum of 6 months related experience required
  • 1 to 2 years floor care experience preferred
  • At least 1 year experience in a lead role preferred
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage priorities
  • Flexibility in work assignments
  • Capability to safely work around housekeeping chemicals

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • 6 months of related experience required
  • 1-2 years floor care experience preferred
  • 1 year lead experience preferred
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Capable of working independently setting priorities and being flexible in assignments
  • Able to work around housekeeping chemicals

Job Duties

  • Empty clean and reline trash containers
  • Properly dispose of all waste including biohazardous materials
  • High dust surfaces above shoulder height
  • Sanitize and spot clean
  • Clean restrooms restocking dispensers
  • Dust hard surface floors vacuum carpets
  • Sanitize floors carpets
  • Ensure customer satisfaction with completed work
  • Additional cleaning and bed making as required by patient discharge or transfer including removal of clinical support equipment soiled linen
  • Specialized cleaning and support for patient isolations
  • Terminal cleaning of operating emergency labor and delivery ICU and special procedures rooms and associated specialized furniture and equipment
  • Assist supervisor with training new hires and in-service training with staff
  • Perform patient interviews on incoming and discharging patients to inform them of expectations from the EVS department
  • Follow-up on complaints and concerns made by patients family members and staff
  • Perform duties of supervisor in their absence
  • Adhere to the Patient Safety Goals
  • Respond to emergency situations appropriately
  • Demonstrate knowledge of emergency preparedness codes
  • Recognize safety hazards act to protect patients self and others
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
