Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Some experience preferred
- Ability to speak fluent English
- Ability to read, write and understand simple English instructions
- Completion of Departmental Training Program within first 30 days of employment
- Ability to consistently use personal protective equipment and safe lifting techniques
- Compliance with hospital policies and procedures
- Authorization to work in assigned areas after training
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Some experience in cleaning or healthcare environment preferred
- Ability to speak, read, write, and understand English
- Completion of departmental training program within first 30 days
- Good interpersonal and customer service skills
- Knowledge of infection prevention and safety protocols
Job Duties
- Perform full range of restroom cleaning and patient room cleaning following area-specific protocols
- Follow infection prevention procedures and select appropriate cleaning chemicals
- Maintain cleanliness of walls, doors, windows, furniture, equipment, and floors including dust mopping and wet mopping
- Properly remove and dispose of trash and linen according to waste type protocol
- Use personal protective equipment correctly and practise safe lifting techniques
- Comply with all hospital and department policies
- Use Ultra Violet Light equipment safely according to protocol
- Place correct liners in waste containers and secure them
- Greet and assist staff, patients, and visitors exhibiting positive customer service
- Participate in special project teams and performance improvement initiatives
- Document daily assignments and adjust to staff shortages
- Use Epic system to support bed and patient flow
- Perform other duties as assigned
