Job Requirements
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks
- Must complete initial and refresher training on hazardous waste handling
- Ability to adhere to scheduled shifts including day or night
- Must follow hospital safety and exposure control policies
- Ability to maintain respectful professional relationships
- Capability to work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team
Job Qualifications
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Knowledge of cleaning protocols and safety procedures
- Ability to follow detailed cleaning processes
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Basic understanding of hazardous waste handling
- Willingness to participate in ongoing training and development
Job Duties
- Perform daily cleaning using the 10 step process of patient rooms, ancillary areas, restrooms, offices, public areas and corridors
- Provide supplies to mentioned areas as appropriate
- Coordinate, supervise and maintain areas of responsibility to the high standards set by the department and AdventHealth
- Adhere to all policies and procedures set by the department
- Participate in outstanding customer service and maintain respectful relationships
- Transport hazardous waste from the point of generation to a designated secure storage area following safety protocols
- Follow assigned schedules to collect and deliver trash carts
- Respond to requests for special trash pickups
- Re-line trash containers as needed
- Attend all required safety training programs and understand responsibilities related to general safety and specific job hazards
- Follow hospital exposure control and pathogen protocols
- Promote effective working relations and collaborate with department teams to meet goals
