- some housekeeping experience preferred
- ability to speak fluent English
- ability to read, write and understand simple instructions in English
- completion of departmental training program within first 30 days of employment
- required certifications upon hire
- ability to use personal protective equipment and follow safety protocols

- knowledge of infection prevention protocols
- ability to use specialized cleaning equipment such as Ultra Violet Light devices
- ability to work as part of a team and participate in performance improvement projects
Job Duties
- Perform the full range of restroom cleaning and complete patient room cleaning following established protocols
- follow infection prevention protocols and select proper cleaning chemicals
- perform routine cleaning tasks including dust mopping, wet mopping, cleaning walls, doors, windows, furniture, and equipment
- properly remove trash and linen according to waste stream guidelines for solid, biohazard, chemotherapy, and pharmaceutical waste
- consistently use correct personal protective equipment and proper lifting techniques
- comply with all hospital and department policies and procedures
- follow safe use protocols for Ultra Violet Light equipment
- place proper liners in waste containers and secure them correctly
- exhibit positive customer service behavior when interacting with staff, patients, and visitors
- practice interpersonal skills supporting world-class service efforts
- participate in team projects and performance improvement initiatives
- document daily assignments and adjust to staff shortages
- use Epic system for bed and patient flow management
- perform other duties as assigned
- comply with Wellstar Health System policies and code of conduct
