Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- ability to speak fluent English
- ability to read, write, and understand simple instructions in English
- completion of departmental training program within 30 days of employment
- availability to work Monday through Friday with every other weekend
- ability to safely handle waste and chemicals
- adherence to hospital and department policies and procedures
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- some experience in environmental services or healthcare cleaning preferred
- ability to speak fluent English
- good customer service and interpersonal skills
- knowledge of infection prevention and safety protocols
- ability to operate cleaning technologies such as Ultra Violet Light devices
- capability to follow detailed instructions and work in a team environment
Job Duties
- Perform regular, terminal, and isolation cleaning following hospital protocols
- remove, place, and transport various types of waste according to safety guidelines
- use Ultra Violet Light devices properly to sanitize areas
- replace waste containers such as sharps and chemotherapy containers safely
- maintain cleanliness of walls, doors, windows, furniture, and equipment
- follow infection prevention protocols and use proper chemicals for cleaning tasks
- document daily cleaning activities and use Epic system to manage patient bed flow
