Job Requirements

  • Able to communicate and interface effectively with hospital staff, patients, and visitors
  • high school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • able to follow written and verbal instructions
  • able to communicate by telephone
  • able to initiate communication with peers about priorities
  • able to stand and walk throughout the day
  • must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
  • comfortable working around blood and bodily fluids with personal protective equipment
  • willing to stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, and twist frequently

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • ability to communicate effectively in person and by telephone
  • knowledge of cleaning chemicals and safety practices
  • ability to work evening shifts including every other weekend
  • ability to work well independently and as part of a team
  • ability to safely handle exposure to blood and bodily fluids with personal protective equipment

Job Duties

  • Clean and disinfect hospital areas to prevent infection
  • prepare patient rooms by replenishing supplies and making beds
  • collect, store, and dispose of medical-related waste safely
  • perform project tasks such as carpet and refrigerator cleaning
  • maintain confidentiality and comply with safety standards
  • communicate effectively with hospital staff, patients, and visitors
  • follow written and verbal instructions and prioritize tasks
