Job Requirements
- Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language
- Physical ability to stand and walk up to 8 hours per day
- Ability to lift, transfer, push, or pull up to 50 pounds
- Willingness to work weekends, evenings, and holidays as scheduled
- Ability to sit up to 1 hour per day
- Ability to drive up to 3 hours per day
- Exposure to infectious waste, diseases, and working conditions including risk of falls, burns, odors, and cuts
- Must follow established quality assurance, infection control, and precautionary protocols
Job Qualifications
- Tenth grade education required
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- One year of housekeeping experience preferred
- Knowledge of cleaning and general housekeeping methods and equipment preferred
- Knowledge of floor care and appropriate cleaning materials preferred
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English
Job Duties
- Dusts furniture, tables, window ledges, lights, beds, and high pipes
- Empties and cleans waste cans and replaces liners
- Cleans and polishes tables, fixtures, furnishings, and woodwork
- Cleans, washes, and disinfects bathroom sinks, toilets, tubs, showers, and floors
- Polishes chrome bathroom fixtures
- Cleans windows and mirrors in bathrooms, entrance/exit ways, and patio doors
- Cleans floors and baseboards by disinfecting, sweeping, dust mopping, wet mopping, waxing, and buffing
- Vacuums carpets and carpeted stairways
- Cleans walls and ceilings by wiping, dusting, and spot cleaning
- Ensures work areas and equipment are clean and in proper working order
- Maintains adequate supply of housekeeping and cleaning supplies
- Reports damage or repairs to supervisor
- Shares insights to improve quality and efficiency
- Attends all-employee and departmental meetings
- Listens and responds to resident, patient, and staff needs
- Honors resident and patient personal and property rights
- Maintains accurate records through computers and documentation
- Performs all other duties as assigned
