Job Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- One or more years of housekeeping or related experience
- Experience in use of mechanical cleaning equipment
- Requires general knowledge of cleaning terms and safety procedures related to hazardous chemicals
- Comprehensive working knowledge of housekeeping methods and procedures, materials, tools and equipment
- Ability to read, write and follow oral and written instructions
- Must be well organized and able to prioritize work

Job Duties
- Cleaning dorm rooms, classrooms, hallways, elevators, lobbies, stairwells, kitchens, offices, locker rooms, and other assigned areas
- Vacuuming floors, chair rails, baseboards, ceiling vents, upholstered furniture, window blinds
- Mopping VCT tile floors, hardwood floors, marble floors, and stairwells
- Cleaning and restocking bathrooms and kitchens including appliances
- Emptying and cleaning trash and recycling receptacles and disposing of waste properly
- Cleaning whiteboards, chalkboards, and smart-boards
- Reporting maintenance issues such as plumbing or lighting problems
- Washing interior and exterior windows, glass doors, and mirrors
- Cleaning ceiling fans and lights, keeping them bug free
- Managing supply inventory and maintaining cleaning equipment orderly with proper labeling
- Cleaning interior walls as needed
- Handling cleaning chemicals safely following OSHA, EPA, State health department guidelines
- Working effectively as part of the housekeeping team
- Operating industrial floor machines and attachments
- Providing carpet restorative care
- Filling in for absent housekeepers
- Moving heavy furniture, supplies, and equipment
- Maintaining specialty equipment including floor scrubbers and carpet cleaning machines
- Climbing and using 6' and 8' ladders
- Completing assigned work orders timely
- Removing mold and mildew when required
- Setting up and tearing down tables, chairs, canopies, and equipment for campus events
- Willingness to learn mechanical operation of housekeeping equipment
