Job Requirements

  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • Ability to work every other weekend with rest days off during the week as applicable
  • Ability to attend all Environmental Services Department meetings and in-services, as well as required Community in-services as scheduled and assigned for online courses
  • Ability to read and write with clarity sufficient to follow instructions
  • Ability to follow cleaning schedules, policies and procedures as outlined in the Housekeeping Policies and Procedures Manual
  • Kindness and respectfulness to residents
  • Demonstrated neat appearance and good personal hygiene
  • Ability to read, know, and follow personnel, department, and Community policies
  • Willingness to wear appropriate uniform and a nametag

Job Qualifications

  • Must be a high school graduate or equivalent

Job Duties

  • Clean assigned number of rooms each day
  • Dust mop or vacuum room floor and bathroom floor, including under bed and furniture
  • Damp mop or vacuum room floor and bathroom floor, including under bed and furniture
  • Empty trash containers in resident room and bathroom and replace liners
  • Evaluate trash containers and replace as needed
  • Wash trash containers per schedule or as needed
  • Clean headboards and footboards of beds, side rails, over-bed trays, night stands, dressers and picture frames
  • Clean walls as needed
  • Evaluate cubicle curtains and notify supervisor if need to be cleaned
  • Clean and/or sanitize commodes, lavatories, showers, and mirrors in bathrooms
  • Replenish paper towels, soap and toilet tissue as needed
  • Clean and/or sanitize bedside commode daily if applicable
  • Clean mini-blinds per schedule
  • Clean corner guards per schedule as applicable to community
  • Clean up any spill immediately using community procedure
  • Sanitize vacant room for arrival of new resident, as applicable
  • Change mop water and mop head every three rooms or more often if needed
  • Clean wheelchairs as needed and/or per wheelchair cleaning schedule
  • Clean beds, dressers, nightstands, etc. per schedule
  • Clean general bathrooms as needed and/or at least daily
  • Clean handrails, doorknobs, elevator buttons, light switches and other high touch surfaces, as assigned and/or per schedule
  • Clean dining rooms after each meal
  • Clean outside of hand sanitizer dispensers daily
  • Vacuum lobby, offices, chapel, lounges, conference and classroom as assigned
  • Assist with removing soiled linen carts from Soiled Utility Rooms, taking to soiled linen holding area, and returning clean, empty carts to Soiled Utility Rooms as needed
  • Recheck all areas and clean as needed before end of shift
  • Clean housekeeping cart, mop bucket, wringer, and vacuum and put in storage area
  • Place soiled mops and cleaning cloths in plastic bag and take to laundry at end of shift
  • Perform other duties as assigned
