Job Requirements
- One year of relevant experience in hotel, motel, healthcare or similar work environment
- high school graduation or GED equivalent preferred
- ability to read, write and speak English
- fingerprint clearance from Department of Justice with no convictions except minor traffic offenses
- good communication skills
- desire to work with mentally impaired adults
- ability to follow written and verbal directions
- willingness to participate in team and safety procedures
- physical ability to perform cleaning tasks including walking, standing, bending, lifting and repetitive hand use
Job Qualifications
- High school graduation or GED preferred
- one year of relevant housekeeping experience in hotel, motel, healthcare or similar environment
- experience in healthcare preferred
- ability to read, write and speak English to follow written and verbal directions
- good communication skills

- ability to cooperate and work as part of a team
- knowledge of safety and infection control procedures
- ability to perform physical tasks consistently and safely
Job Duties
- Perform housekeeping tasks according to policies and procedures
- sweep, mop, vacuum, buff, strip, wash and shampoo floor surfaces
- clean and dust furniture, closets, telephone areas, and vents
- scour, polish and sanitize sinks, counters, stainless steel surfaces and waste receptacles
- empty waste receptacles and transport medical waste as directed
- wash windows and walls, possibly removing draperies and rugs
- wash mops, rags and linen as directed
- gather and return cleaning supplies and equipment daily
- distribute clean laundry to nursing staff and collect dirty laundry for pickup
- participate as a team member and provide input via observations and reporting
- demonstrate knowledge and proper use of equipment and supplies
- report defective equipment or needed repairs
- execute facility fire, disaster, and safety procedures
- assist with management of assaultive behavior upon clinical staff request
- report fire and accident hazards
- maintain good rapport and cooperative relationships with team members
- focus on assigned tasks and seek improvements
- understand and apply safety, contamination and infection control procedures
- practice universal precautions
- demonstrate knowledge of customers including clients, families and agencies in conduct
- act professionally in community representation
- complete tasks and assignments meeting deadlines
- demonstrate knowledge of attendance policies
- attend in-service education programs and request additional training
- always dress appropriately and professionally
