Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- one year of experience in related housekeeping or laundry services
- ability to operate cleaning and laundry equipment
- physical ability to perform cleaning duties including lifting and moving supplies
- adherence to safety protocols
- good organizational and communication skills
Job Qualifications
- One year of experience in related area of assignment
- or one year of experience at the lower level Housekeeper 1 (FES040) or position equivalent
- knowledge of laundry processes and equipment
- ability to operate hand tools and power cleaning equipment
- understanding of safety procedures in handling contaminated refuse
Job Duties
- Perform any combination of duties to maintain order, sanitation and cleanliness in facilities
- maintain supplies as needed
- clean and straighten assigned areas
- collect, sort, launder, transport and distribute linens and uniforms
- ensure laundry, housekeeping and floor equipment is in good working condition
- maintain and stock equipment and supplies as needed
- mend linens and assist in preventative maintenance and repair
- observe required safety precautions in disposing of contaminated refuse
- operate hand tools and power cleaning equipment
- participate in making, marking, altering and mending of clothing, linens and other items
- press and store all linens
