Job Requirements
- Must have good hearing acuity and visual acuity including close vision and color distinction
- must be able to push or lift up to 50 pounds
- must be able to walk, stand and reach for approximately 90 percent of the work shift
- must be punctual and dependable
- must maintain neat and clean personal appearance with good hygiene
- must be willing to work scheduled hours Monday through Friday 7:00 am to 3:30 pm
- must be willing to follow established dress code including wearing a name tag at all times
- must have the ability to accept constructive criticism
- must be able to cooperate with coworkers and work as a team
- must be adaptable to changes in procedures, work hours and assignments
- must understand and follow safety policies and infection control procedures
- must maintain tenant confidentiality and privacy
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- prior housekeeping experience in a healthcare or assisted living environment preferred
- knowledge of cleaning procedures and chemical safety
- ability to follow infection control protocols
- effective communication skills in English
- ability to work independently and as part of a team
- good physical stamina and health
- basic understanding of safety practices and risk management
- willingness to attend training and in-service programs
- ability to respect tenant confidentiality and privacy
Job Duties
- Clean apartment units following Missouri Slope Assisted Living procedures and cleaning routine
- follow a scheduled list of apartments to be cleaned
- keep all equipment and surfaces in assigned areas clean, sanitary and orderly
- follow established infection control procedures including proper hand washing, gloving and use of personal protective devices
- properly label and store chemicals used on the job
- maintain confidentiality of tenant information and provide privacy by knocking on doors and waiting to enter
- attend in-services and demonstrate interest in learning
- adapt to changes in procedures, hours and assignments
- exhibit patience and a caring attitude
- work under supervision and accept constructive criticism
- cooperate and work as part of a team
- organize workload to completion following policies and procedures
- maintain neat personal appearance and good hygiene
- be punctual and dependable
- safely work around oven cleaner when necessary
- promote Missouri Slope Assisted Living to prospective customers
- follow safety policies to protect tenants and employees from harm
- adhere to Volunteer Protection Program and Risk Management/Safety Program
- communicate effectively in English
- maintain good visual acuity and physical health to perform duties safely
- assist with other duties as requested by the Director
