Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- previous custodial or housekeeping experience preferred
- ability to work full-time including weekends or flexible part-time/full-time hours
- ability to lift up to 50 pounds and carry objects up to 40 pounds frequently
- ability to perform physical activities including bending, twisting, standing and walking for extended periods
- ability to work on ladders
- ability to pass background and security checks
- valid ability to follow safety protocols and procedures
- ability to communicate clearly and maintain a professional demeanor
Job Qualifications
- Knowledge of methods, materials and equipment used in cleaning and maintenance of buildings
- ability to operate mechanical and manual cleaning equipment
- ability to recognize and resolve safety issues
- ability to work independently and plan work according to priorities
- physical ability to perform cleaning tasks including stairs and ladders
- ability to maintain effective working relationships with staff, tenants and the public
- effective oral and written communication skills
- ability to follow oral and written instructions
- positive representation of the facility to public and visitors
- successful completion of FBI background check and security threat analysis
Job Duties
- Clean interior facilities including vacuuming and shampooing carpets
- strip, clean, wax and polish floors
- clean light fixtures, furniture, ceilings, walls and windows
- clean and sanitize restrooms
- collect and dispose waste and sanitize garbage cans
- operate cleaning equipment and perform operational checks
- empty and clean air vents
- polish stainless steel fixtures and trim
- requisition necessary supplies
- empty waste baskets and move trash and recycling to transport areas
- salt and shovel sidewalks
- perform minor repairs to walls and furniture
- accept freight deliveries
- comply with safety and quality standards
- collect hazardous waste using established procedures
- clean equipment and report repairs
- report safety hazards
- follow safety procedures
- complete and maintain required documentation
- drain, fill and maintain terminal water fountains
- understand and maintain Global Harmonized System compliance
- perform related assigned functions
