Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- previous experience in housekeeping or custodial work preferred
- ability to lift and carry objects up to 45 pounds independently and over 45 pounds with assistance
- physical capability to perform repetitive bending, stooping, reaching, and standing
- ability to operate industrial cleaning equipment safely
- adherence to safety regulations
- current driver’s license recommended
- successful completion of background checks including National Agency Check and Inquiries (NACI)
- agreement to direct deposit of pay
- compliance with drug-free workplace policy
Job Qualifications
- Knowledge of proper care and maintenance of carpets and furniture
- ability to handle and control heavy powered equipment
- knowledge of proper uses of cleaning and sanitizing solutions
- ability to remove stains from various surfaces
- ability to read and understand directions on labels and printed instructions
- ability to anticipate needs of guests and clients
- good oral and written communication skills
- must be organized and able to multi-task
Job Duties
- Makes beds, changes sheets, towels, and other linens
- thoroughly cleans guest rooms including dusting, waxing, and polishing furniture
- sweeps floors, vacuums, and shampoos rugs
- empties wastebaskets and sanitizes lavatories
- washes walls and windows using a ladder
- dusts drapes, blinds, and window coverings
- turns mattresses and sanitizes all fixtures and bedding with disinfectant
- services rooms daily with soap, cups, and coffee
- reports missing or broken articles to supervisor
- scrubs, strips, waxes, and polishes floors using heavy powered scrubbers and buffers occasionally
- washes and replaces window coverings and ceiling fixtures
- moves heavy furniture with assistance
- provides customer service emphasizing courtesy and problem-solving
- alerts supervisors about issues
- adheres to safety regulations and standards
- reports workplace hazards, injuries, or property damage promptly
- supports EEO principles and prevents sexual harassment
- performs other related duties as assigned
