Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • previous experience in housekeeping or custodial work preferred
  • ability to lift and carry objects up to 45 pounds independently and over 45 pounds with assistance
  • physical capability to perform repetitive bending, stooping, reaching, and standing
  • ability to operate industrial cleaning equipment safely
  • adherence to safety regulations
  • current driver’s license recommended
  • successful completion of background checks including National Agency Check and Inquiries (NACI)
  • agreement to direct deposit of pay
  • compliance with drug-free workplace policy

Job Qualifications

  • Knowledge of proper care and maintenance of carpets and furniture
  • ability to handle and control heavy powered equipment
  • knowledge of proper uses of cleaning and sanitizing solutions
  • ability to remove stains from various surfaces
  • ability to read and understand directions on labels and printed instructions
  • ability to anticipate needs of guests and clients
  • good oral and written communication skills
  • must be organized and able to multi-task

Job Duties

  • Makes beds, changes sheets, towels, and other linens
  • thoroughly cleans guest rooms including dusting, waxing, and polishing furniture
  • sweeps floors, vacuums, and shampoos rugs
  • empties wastebaskets and sanitizes lavatories
  • washes walls and windows using a ladder
  • dusts drapes, blinds, and window coverings
  • turns mattresses and sanitizes all fixtures and bedding with disinfectant
  • services rooms daily with soap, cups, and coffee
  • reports missing or broken articles to supervisor
  • scrubs, strips, waxes, and polishes floors using heavy powered scrubbers and buffers occasionally
  • washes and replaces window coverings and ceiling fixtures
  • moves heavy furniture with assistance
  • provides customer service emphasizing courtesy and problem-solving
  • alerts supervisors about issues
  • adheres to safety regulations and standards
  • reports workplace hazards, injuries, or property damage promptly
  • supports EEO principles and prevents sexual harassment
  • performs other related duties as assigned
