Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- prior housekeeping or cleaning experience preferred
- ability to lift and carry objects up to 45 lbs independently and over 45 lbs with assistance
- physical ability to stand, bend, stoop, reach frequently
- ability to operate industrial cleaning equipment
- current driver’s license recommended
- adherence to safety standards and policies
- reliable and able to work part-time hours regularly
- ability to work indoors in conditions involving exposure to strong odors and cleaning chemicals
- must comply with Selective Service registration if applicable
- successful completion of background checks and National Agency Check and Inquiries (NACI)
- adherence to drug-free workplace policy
Job Qualifications
- Knowledge of proper care and maintenance of carpets and furniture
- ability to handle and control heavy powered equipment
- knowledge of proper uses of special cleaning and sanitizing solutions
- ability to remove stains from various surfaces
- ability to read and understand directions on labels and printed instructions
- ability to anticipate needs of guests or clients
- good oral and written communication skills
- must be organized and able to multi-task
Job Duties
- Makes beds, changes sheets, towels, and other linens
- thoroughly cleans guest rooms including dusting, waxing, polishing furniture, sweeping floors, vacuuming, shampooing rugs, emptying wastebaskets, sanitizing lavatories
- washes walls and windows using a ladder, dusts drapes, blinds, and window coverings
- turns mattresses, sanitizes all fixtures and bedding, services each room daily with soap, cups, coffee etc
- reports missing or broken articles to supervisor
- scrubs, strips, waxes, and polishes floors using heavy powered scrubbers and buffers
- washes and replaces window coverings
- washes ceiling fixtures
- moves heavy furniture with assistance
- provides meaningful connections through customer service focusing on courtesy
- assists customers and communicates positively in a friendly manner
- takes action to solve problems quickly
- alerts supervisor or proper point of contact when problems arise
- adheres to safety regulations and standards
- promptly reports workplace hazards, injury, occupational illness, or property damage
- adheres to standards of supporting EEO principles and prevention of sexual harassment
- performs other related duties as assigned
