Job Requirements
- high school diploma or equivalent
- prior housekeeping or cleaning experience preferred
- ability to stand, bend, stoop, reach, and lift objects frequently
- capacity to lift up to 45lbs independently and heavier objects with assistance
- ability to safely operate vacuum cleaners, carpet cleaners, and industrial equipment
- willingness to work indoors under normal conditions
- safe handling of cleaning chemicals
- adherence to safety and EEO policies
- availability for regular part-time work
- current driver’s license recommended
Job Qualifications
- knowledge of proper care and maintenance of carpets and furniture
- ability to handle and control heavy powered equipment
- knowledge of proper uses of various special cleaning and sanitizing solutions
- ability to remove different kinds of stains from a wide variety of surfaces
- ability to read and understand directions on labels and printed instructions
- ability to anticipate needs of guests and clients
- good oral and written communication skills
- must be organized and able to multitask
Job Duties
- makes beds, changes sheets, towels, and other linens
- thoroughly cleans guest rooms including dusting, waxing, and polishing furniture
- sweeps floors, vacuums, and shampoos rugs
- empties wastebaskets and sanitizes lavatories
- washes walls and windows using a ladder
- dusts drapes, blinds, and window coverings
- turns mattresses and sanitizes fixtures and bedding with disinfectant
- services rooms daily with soap, cups, coffee, etc.
- reports missing or broken articles to supervisor
- occasionally scrubs, strips, waxes, and polishes floors using heavy powered scrubbers and buffers
- washes and replaces window coverings and ceiling fixtures
- moves heavy furniture with assistance
- provides meaningful connections through customer service with emphasis on courtesy
- assists customers and communicates positively
- solves problems quickly and alerts supervisors when issues arise
- adheres to safety regulations and promptly reports hazards and incidents
- supports EEO program and sexual harassment prevention
- performs other related duties as assigned
