Job Requirements
- high school diploma or equivalent preferred
- prior housekeeping or cleaning experience preferred
- ability to stand, bend, stoop, reach and lift regularly
- ability to operate vacuum cleaners, carpet cleaners, and other cleaning equipment
- ability to climb ladders safely
- availability to work flexible shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
- adherence to safety and workplace regulations
- a current driver's license is recommended
- pass background checks and suitability investigations
- willingness to comply with drug-free workplace policies
Job Qualifications
- knowledge of proper care and maintenance of carpets and furniture
- ability to operate heavy powered cleaning equipment
- knowledge of various cleaning and sanitizing solutions and stain removal techniques
- ability to read and follow directions on labels and instructions
- strong oral and written communication skills
- ability to anticipate guest needs
- organized and capable of multitasking
- ability to work independently under supervision
- physical capability to perform cleaning tasks including lifting up to 45lbs independently and over 45lbs with assistance
Job Duties
- Makes beds and changes linens
- thoroughly cleans guest rooms including dusting, waxing, polishing furniture, sweeping, vacuuming, and shampooing rugs
- empties wastebaskets and sanitizes lavatories
- washes walls, windows, drapes, blinds, and window coverings using ladders
- turns mattresses and sanitizes fixtures and bedding
- services each room daily with soap, cups, coffee etc
- reports missing or broken items to supervisor
- occasionally scrubs, strips, waxes, and polishes floors using heavy powered equipment
- moves heavy furniture with assistance
- provides courteous customer service and assists guests
- communicates positively and resolves problems quickly
- alerts supervisors or proper contact for assistance when needed
- adheres to safety regulations and reports workplace hazards
- supports EEO program and prevention of sexual harassment principles
- performs other duties as assigned
