Job Requirements
- Must be able to safely lift bags of laundry, trash or equipment weighing up to 50 pounds
- Must be able to read, write, speak and understand fluent English
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous housekeeping or janitorial experience preferred
- Ability to follow detailed cleaning protocols
- Basic knowledge of infection control practices
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Good communication skills in English
- Physical capability to lift up to 50 pounds safely
Job Duties
- Perform routine housekeeping duties including daily cleaning of patient rooms, restrooms, lounges, offices, classrooms and corridors in accordance with standard operating procedures
- Utilize SpaceCare QL cleaning process in all patient and ancillary areas of the hospital
- Prepare patient rooms for occupancy following Epic protocol
- Maintain neat appearance of floors by mopping hard surfaces and vacuuming carpets
- Perform duties in secured areas, accessing rooms with medications and supplies as authorized
- Transport waste to designated trash chute or soiled utility location
- Move furniture and set up meeting rooms
- Report repair needs of equipment, furniture, fixtures and facility
- Maintain cleanliness of equipment
- Adhere to UnityPoint Health and departmental policies
