Job Requirements
- Must be able to safely lift bags or equipment weighing up to 50 pounds
- Must be able to read, write, speak and understand fluent English
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Ability to work flexible shifts if required
- Adherence to hospital policies and standards
- Willingness to work in a healthcare environment
- Physical capability to perform cleaning and housekeeping duties
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous housekeeping experience preferred
- Familiarity with cleaning protocols in healthcare settings an advantage
- Ability to follow detailed cleaning procedures
- Basic communication skills in English
- Ability to safely lift and handle up to 50 pounds
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Understanding of workplace safety and infection control practices
Job Duties
- Perform routine housekeeping duties including daily cleaning of patient rooms, restrooms, lounges, offices, classrooms and corridors
- Utilize SpaceCare QL cleaning process in all patient and ancillary areas
- Prepare patient rooms for occupancy according to Epic protocol
- Maintain neat appearance of floor surfaces, including mopping and vacuuming
- Perform job tasks within secured areas respecting access protocols
- Transport waste to designated trash chute or soiled utility location
- Move furniture and set up meeting rooms
- Report repair needs of equipment, furniture, fixtures and the facility
- Maintain cleanliness of equipment
- Abide by all UnityPoint Health and departmental policies
