Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • one to three months related experience and/or training
  • ability to follow bloodborne pathogen regulations
  • physical ability to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds frequently
  • availability to work scheduled shifts including evenings and weekends
  • capacity to adhere to safety and emergency protocols
  • ability to communicate effectively with team and residents
  • respect for privacy and sensitivity to residents' needs

Job Qualifications

  • knowledge of cleaning and sanitization practices
  • understanding of safety protocols and emergency procedures

Job Duties

  • Provides a clean and sanitary environment
  • cleans, disinfects, and properly dispose of bodily fluids according to bloodborne pathogen regulations
  • restocks, sorts, counts, folds, or carries linens
  • washes, dries, and folds laundry
  • performs bed making, linen changes and replacement
  • inventories and restocks housekeeping carts
  • replenishes supplies in common areas such as bathrooms, offices, and employee lounge
  • moves light furniture
  • cleans lobbies, lounges, rest rooms, lanais, corridors, elevators, resident apartments including living room, bedroom, kitchen, refrigerator, closets, and cabinets
  • sweeps, mops, scrubs, waxes, and polishes floors
  • vacuums, spot cleans rugs, carpets, and upholstered furniture
  • dusts furniture, light fixtures, handrails, and picture frames
  • washes walls, polish woodwork and stainless steel
  • washes windows and window treatment, door panels, sills and tracks
  • empties and sanitizes wastebaskets
  • transports trash and waste to disposal area
  • reports any maintenance needs to supervisor or completes a work order
  • turns in lost-and-found items
  • attends monthly in-service programs and annual employee training
  • performs annual employee health screening
  • adheres to all safety protocols
  • ensures compliance with corporate, state, and federal safety guidelines
  • performs duties for emergency drills and situations
  • adheres to assigned work schedules and accurately uses the time and attendance system
  • works harmoniously with co-workers and other departments
  • interacts with residents, clients, and participants with patience and kindness
  • exercises caution and good safety judgment
  • respects and observes residents', clients', and participants' rights and privacy
