Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous housekeeping or cleaning experience preferred
- Ability to follow detailed instructions and procedures
- Physical ability to perform cleaning tasks including lifting, bending and standing for extended periods
- Good communication skills
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Flexibility to work various shifts including weekends and holidays
Job Qualifications
- Basic reading, writing and mathematical skills
- Ability to communicate effectively in English with employees and residents
- General knowledge of sanitation and safe food handling practices
- Ability to retain up to four orders at one time
- Strong organization and time management skills
- Basic computer skills
Job Duties
- Provide general housekeeping for both the community as a whole and individual resident apartments
- Vacuum, dust and clean the main entryway, common areas, dining room, hallways, patios and resident apartments
- Clean and defrost refrigerators in resident apartments as needed
- Change bed linens and ensure adequate linen supplies in each apartment
- Empty waste baskets and check heat system filters
- Provide deep cleaning of apartments with special attention to carpets, plants, pictures, railings, windows and light fixtures
- Launder all linens by washing and drying in the laundry facilities
- Follow company sanitation and safety procedures
- Greet residents and guests at each table with a smile to serve beverages, cereals and soups or salads
- Review menus, take resident orders and serve meals and desserts
- Return serving cart to kitchen and assist with storage of perishable items
- Deliver trays to resident rooms if needed
- Bus and clear dishes from tables after meals
- Reset dining areas following proper sanitizing procedures
- Complete side work such as refilling sugar holders, replenishing creamers and cleaning coffeemakers
- Perform other duties as assigned
