Job Qualifications
- Ability to read, write, and perform arithmetic calculations
- ability to operate assigned tools and housekeeping equipment
- ability to work with chemicals and cleaning solutions
- ability to understand and follow directions
- ability to lift and transport supplies and refuse
- ability to wear and work in personal protective equipment
- one year or more of experience in an educational, institutional, or non-profit setting
- experience operating commercial housekeeping equipment for stripping, waxing, sealing, and burnishing vinyl, marble, and hardwood floors
- knowledge of walk-behind and ride-on floor scrubbers
- ability to work evenings and weekends
Job Duties
- Cleans assigned areas by washing furnishings, windows, tile, fixtures, equipment, and floors
- vacuums, dusts, and polishes specified areas and/or furnishings
- sanitizes and disinfects bathrooms
- gathers and transports trash from assigned areas to the appropriate disposal location
- inspects physical condition of assigned areas and reports maintenance needs to appropriate personnel regarding repairs, replacements, furnishings, and relocation of equipment
- requests cleaning materials and supplies from designated areas
- mixes cleaning solutions according to specifications
- operates standard cleaning equipment such as vacuum cleaners, buffers, and mops
- performs other duties as assigned
