Job Requirements
- Ability to physically lift a maximum of 30 pounds at waist level
- Frequent waist lifting and overhead lifting of 20 pounds
- Ability to push and/or pull with a maximum effort of 20 pounds
- Ability to stand or walk for 6-8 hours in an 8-hour day
- Frequent bending, squatting, and twisting during an 8-hour shift
- Availability to attend mandatory in-services and housekeeping department meetings
- Willingness to work weekends
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Experience in housekeeping or custodial work preferred
- Ability to follow safety and sanitation procedures
- Strong attention to detail
- Good communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Compassionate attitude towards elderly residents
Job Duties
- Keep the facility free from dust, dirt, odors and clutter
- Vacuum carpeted areas daily
- Sweep and wet mop floors daily
- Buff floors 1 hour daily
- Wet wipe vinyl chairs, over bed tables, bedside stands and window sills daily
- Dust furniture daily with polish
- Empty wastebaskets daily and replace plastic can liners
- Clean bathrooms daily including toilets, sinks and mirrors
- Replenish paper dispenser and soap dispensers when needed
- Clean windows as scheduled
- Water plants in the facility
- Sweep outdoor entry ways daily
- Inform supervisor of any needed supplies
- Restock housekeeping carts daily
- Change mop heads frequently during the day
- Change water in buckets frequently during the day
- Note needed repairs and report to supervisor
- Keep housekeeping room neat and clean
- Wash walls when needed
- Sanitize equipment according to the schedule
- Perform any other duties assigned by supervisor or Administrator to maintain quality housekeeping
