Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Prior housekeeping or cleaning experience preferred
- Familiarity with cleaning equipment and chemicals
- Ability to follow detailed instructions
- Good communication skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and respect resident privacy
- Availability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Previous experience in housekeeping or janitorial services preferred
- Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and supplies
- Understanding of infection control policies and procedures
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong attention to detail and time management skills
- Good physical stamina and the ability to perform manual tasks
Job Duties
- Coordinate daily housekeeping services with nursing services when performing routine cleaning assignments in resident living and/or recreational areas
- Perform day-to-day housekeeping functions as assigned
- Empty and sanitize ash trays daily using appropriate metal containers with self-closing cover devices
- Clean and polish furnishings, fixtures, ledges, room heating/cooling units in resident rooms and recreational areas daily
- Clean, wash, sanitize, and/or polish bathroom fixtures ensuring removal of water marks
- Clean windows and mirrors in resident rooms, recreational areas, bathrooms, and entrance/exit ways
- Clean floors including sweeping, dusting, damp/wet mopping, stripping, waxing, buffing, and disinfecting
- Clean carpets including vacuuming, shampooing, deodorizing, and disinfecting
- Clean walls and ceilings by washing, wiping, dusting, spot cleaning, disinfecting, deodorizing
- Remove dirt, dust, grease, and film from surfaces using proper cleaning/disinfecting solutions
- Clean hallways, stairways, and elevators
- Discard waste/trash into proper containers and reline trash receptacle with plastic liner
- Clean vacant rooms as assigned
- Ensure work/assignment areas are clean and that equipment, tools, supplies are properly stored at all times
- Perform isolation cleaning procedures according to infection control procedures
- Discard infectious wastes into appropriate containers
- Assure residents' rights to fair and equitable treatment, self-determination, individuality, privacy, property and civil rights are maintained
- Knock before entering a resident's room
- Perform other duties as assigned
