Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or GED preferred
  • prior professional housekeeping experience preferred
  • ability to learn new skills and acquire job knowledge through on-the-job training and instruction
  • ability to work independently and prioritize tasks
  • passion for working with the aging population

Job Duties

  • clean resident units, bathing areas, lounges, offices, hallways, dining area, common areas, public bathrooms, and other rooms as assigned
  • mop floors, vacuum, spot clean carpeted areas, and empty trash
  • dust and/or wash furniture, fixtures, and equipment
  • wash windows and sills and other annual cleaning functions as required
  • clean public telephone and drinking fountains
  • clean and sanitize lavatories and toilet bowls inside and out
  • perform written cleaning procedures and follow written cleaning schedules for common areas, resident units, and health center rooms
  • keep all equipment and storage areas clean and orderly
  • transport and stock linens and other equipment
  • follow all written infection control procedures established by the community
