Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Previous housekeeping or food service experience preferred
- Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods
- Ability to follow established sanitation and safety protocols
- Availability to work flexible part-time hours
- Ability to communicate effectively in English
- Ability to maintain a friendly and courteous attitude towards residents and coworkers
Job Qualifications
- Basic reading, writing, and mathematical skills
- Effective communication in English with employees and residents
- General knowledge of sanitation and safe food handling practices
- Ability to retain orders up to four at one time
- Strong organization and time management skills
- Basic computer skills
Job Duties
- Provide general housekeeping for community and individual resident apartments including vacuuming, dusting, and cleaning main entryways, common areas, dining rooms, hallways, patios, and resident apartments
- Clean and defrost refrigerators, change bed linens, check heating system filters, turn mattresses with assistance, and empty waste baskets in resident apartments
- Perform deep cleaning of apartments focusing on carpets, plants, pictures, railings, windows, and light fixtures
- Launder all linens using community laundry facilities
- Follow company sanitation and safety procedures
- Greet residents and guests at meal tables with a smile to serve beverages, cereals, soups, and salads from the cart
- Take resident orders and serve meals and desserts courteously and clearly
- Return the serving cart to the kitchen and assist with storage of perishable items
- Deliver trays to resident rooms if needed
- Bus and clear dishes from tables after meals and reset tables following proper sanitizing procedures
- Complete side work including filling sugar holders, replenishing creamers, and cleaning the coffeemaker
- Perform other duties as assigned or needed
