Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- previous housekeeping experience preferred
- knowledge of cleaning techniques and disinfecting protocols
- physical ability to perform cleaning tasks
- ability to follow safety and infection control guidelines
- good communication and interpersonal skills
- willingness to adhere to resident privacy and rights
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- previous housekeeping experience in healthcare or residential care setting preferred
- knowledge of cleaning and disinfecting protocols
- ability to follow infection control procedures
- strong attention to detail

- ability to work independently and as part of a team
- physical stamina to perform cleaning tasks
Job Duties
- Coordinate daily housekeeping services with nursing services when performing routine cleaning assignments in resident living and/or recreational areas
- perform day-to-day housekeeping functions as assigned
- empty and sanitize ash trays daily using proper containers
- clean and polish furnishings, fixtures, ledges, and room heating/cooling units in resident rooms and recreational areas
- clean, wash, sanitize, and/or polish bathroom fixtures and remove water marks
- clean windows and mirrors in resident rooms, recreational areas, bathrooms, and entrance/exit ways
- clean floors including sweeping, dusting, damp/wet mopping, stripping, waxing, buffing, and disinfecting
- clean carpets by vacuuming, shampooing, deodorizing, and disinfecting
- clean walls and ceilings by washing, wiping, dusting, spot cleaning, disinfecting, and deodorizing
- remove dirt, dust, grease, and film from surfaces using proper solutions
- clean hallways, stairways, and elevators
- discard waste/trash properly and reline trash receptacles
- clean vacant rooms as assigned
- ensure work/assignment areas are clean and equipment is properly stored
- perform isolation cleaning procedures as per infection control protocols
- discard infectious wastes appropriately
- assure residents’ rights including fair treatment and privacy
- knock before entering a resident’s room
- perform other duties as assigned
