Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Able to provide housekeeping and laundry services that meet or exceed Sunrise’s quality standards
- Desire to work with seniors
- Must pass a drug test excluding marijuana
- Must pass tuberculosis test and physical evaluation
- Background check as required
- COVID-19 and influenza vaccinations if mandated by law
- Must understand and comply with safety procedures
- Ability to work semi-independently and follow community procedures

Job Duties
- Perform general housekeeping duties in resident suites, public areas, and support areas as assigned while meeting or exceeding Sunrise’s quality standards
- Perform cleaning duties according to schedule including sweeping, dusting, mopping floors, spot cleaning, vacuuming floors, rugs, carpets, and runners
- Clean, sanitize, and polish lavatory, shower, and sink fixtures
- Dust, wash, sponge mop, sanitize, and hand shampoo furniture
- Dust desk and floor lamps
- Clean and polish glass surfaces, woodwork, walls, and windowsills
- Knock on resident’s and public restroom doors before entering and respect privacy
- Maintain equipment and supplies in a clean and orderly condition
- Transport clean and soiled linen to appropriate storage and collection areas
- Collect trash and maintain trash receptacles and collection areas in a clean and sanitary manner
- Collect, clean, and redistribute community laundry
- Sort, wash, dry, fold, count, and stack linens following approved laundry procedures
- Inspect linens for wear and tear and follow SOP for damaged linens
- Maintain the commercial laundry area clean and sanitary
- Assist Care Managers and Department Coordinators with resident care when requested
- Respond to resident requests and direct feedback appropriately
- Document and learn about resident’s physical and behavioral changes through the Daily Log
- Ensure cleaning chemicals are stored and locked when not in use
- Keep cords, carts, and equipment out of way and in compliance with fire codes
- Adhere to occupational health and safety regulations and promote risk management policies
- Use personal protective equipment and follow safety procedures
- Maintain equipment and supplies to avoid waste and accidents
- Comply with infection control techniques
- Participate in team meetings and training
- Maintain compliance with assigned training
- Perform other duties as assigned
