Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Previous experience in housekeeping or laundry services in a senior living or healthcare environment is beneficial
  • Desire to work with seniors and contribute to their quality of life
  • Ability to follow schedules and quality standards for cleaning and laundry
  • Must be able to comply with health and safety regulations including infection control
  • Ability to communicate effectively with team members, residents, and supervisors
  • Physically able to perform cleaning tasks including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods
  • Must successfully complete pre-employment screenings including drug test, tuberculosis test, physical evaluation, and background check as required
  • Compliance with federal, state, and local vaccination mandates as applicable
  • Ability to maintain equipment and supplies in an orderly and safe manner
  • Ability to work as part of a team and independently with initiative
  • Must respect resident privacy and exercise discretion
  • As applicable, must understand driver safety requirements

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Ability to provide housekeeping and laundry services in a resident-centered environment meeting or exceeding quality standards
  • Desire to work with seniors
  • Competent in organizational and time management skills
  • Possess written and verbal skills for effective communication
  • Demonstrated ability to handle multiple priorities and work semi-independently
  • Good judgment, problem solving, and decision-making skills
  • Ability to perform tasks with frequent interruptions
  • Willingness to participate in required training and safety compliance
  • As applicable, ability to review and understand driver job description for safety and regulatory compliance

Job Duties

  • Perform general housekeeping duties in resident suites, public areas, and support areas meeting or exceeding Sunrise’s quality standards
  • Perform cleaning duties according to schedule including sweeping, dusting, mopping, vacuuming floors, cleaning and sanitizing bathrooms and fixtures, dusting and polishing furniture, glass surfaces and woodwork
  • Knock on resident’s and restroom doors before entering to respect privacy
  • Maintain equipment and supplies in a clean and orderly condition
  • Transport supplies including clean and soiled linen to appropriate storage and collection areas
  • Collect trash and maintain trash receptacles in a clean, sanitary manner
  • Collect, clean, and redistribute laundry
  • Sort, wash, dry, fold, count, and stack linens following approved procedures
  • Inspect linens for wear and damage and follow community procedures for damaged linens
  • Assist Care Managers and Department Coordinators with resident care when requested
  • Respond to resident requests and document resident information as per Sunrise protocols
  • Ensure cleaning chemicals and equipment are safely stored and hazards are properly managed
  • Comply with safety procedures including the use of personal protective equipment and infection control techniques
  • Participate in team meetings, training, and community engagement activities
  • Perform other duties as assigned
