Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Previous experience in housekeeping or laundry services in a senior living or healthcare environment is beneficial
- Desire to work with seniors and contribute to their quality of life
- Ability to follow schedules and quality standards for cleaning and laundry
- Must be able to comply with health and safety regulations including infection control
- Ability to communicate effectively with team members, residents, and supervisors
- Physically able to perform cleaning tasks including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods
- Must successfully complete pre-employment screenings including drug test, tuberculosis test, physical evaluation, and background check as required
- Compliance with federal, state, and local vaccination mandates as applicable
- Ability to maintain equipment and supplies in an orderly and safe manner
- Ability to work as part of a team and independently with initiative
- Must respect resident privacy and exercise discretion
- As applicable, must understand driver safety requirements
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Ability to provide housekeeping and laundry services in a resident-centered environment meeting or exceeding quality standards
- Desire to work with seniors
- Competent in organizational and time management skills
- Possess written and verbal skills for effective communication
- Demonstrated ability to handle multiple priorities and work semi-independently
- Good judgment, problem solving, and decision-making skills
- Ability to perform tasks with frequent interruptions
- Willingness to participate in required training and safety compliance
- As applicable, ability to review and understand driver job description for safety and regulatory compliance
Job Duties
- Perform general housekeeping duties in resident suites, public areas, and support areas meeting or exceeding Sunrise’s quality standards
- Perform cleaning duties according to schedule including sweeping, dusting, mopping, vacuuming floors, cleaning and sanitizing bathrooms and fixtures, dusting and polishing furniture, glass surfaces and woodwork
- Knock on resident’s and restroom doors before entering to respect privacy
- Maintain equipment and supplies in a clean and orderly condition
- Transport supplies including clean and soiled linen to appropriate storage and collection areas
- Collect trash and maintain trash receptacles in a clean, sanitary manner
- Collect, clean, and redistribute laundry
- Sort, wash, dry, fold, count, and stack linens following approved procedures
- Inspect linens for wear and damage and follow community procedures for damaged linens
- Assist Care Managers and Department Coordinators with resident care when requested
- Respond to resident requests and document resident information as per Sunrise protocols
- Ensure cleaning chemicals and equipment are safely stored and hazards are properly managed
- Comply with safety procedures including the use of personal protective equipment and infection control techniques
- Participate in team meetings, training, and community engagement activities
- Perform other duties as assigned
