Job Duties

  • Perform general housekeeping duties in resident suites, public areas, and support areas while meeting quality standards
  • Perform cleaning duties such as sweeping, dusting, mopping floors, spot cleaning and vacuuming carpets
  • Clean, sanitize, and polish lavatory, shower, and sink fixtures
  • Dust, wash, sponge mop, sanitize and hand shampoo furniture and clean glass surfaces, woodwork, walls, and windowsills
  • Knock on residents' doors before entering and respect their privacy
  • Maintain equipment and supplies in a clean and orderly condition
  • Transport supplies including clean and soiled linens
  • Collect trash and maintain trash receptacles
  • Collect, clean, and redistribute community laundry
  • Sort, wash, dry, fold, count, and stack linens following approved procedures
  • Inspect linens for wear and damage and follow procedures for damaged linens
  • Maintain commercial laundry cleanliness
  • Assist care managers and department coordinators with resident care when requested
  • Respond to resident requests and feedback
  • Read and notate daily logs for resident changes
  • Ensure cleaning chemicals are stored and locked
  • Keep cords, carts, and equipment out of way to prevent hazards
  • Follow safety procedures including use of PPE, fire extinguishers, and lockout tagout
  • Comply with infection control practices
  • Participate in team meetings and training
  • Maintain compliance with required training and regulations
  • Perform other duties as assigned
