Job Requirements
- Less than high school education
- up to one month related experience or training
- ability to read simple words
- ability to print and speak simple sentences
- ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide numbers especially in money and measurement units
- physical ability to stand, walk, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl regularly
- ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds occasionally
- ability to talk and hear frequently
- willingness to work in moderate noise environments
- capability to perform duties involving physical effort and detailed cleaning tasks
- ability to wear proper uniform including nametag at all times
- ability to interact pleasantly with guests using their names
- ability to timely respond to guest needs
Job Qualifications

- ability to read a limited number of two- and three-syllable words
- ability to print and speak simple sentences
- ability to add and subtract two digit numbers
- ability to multiply and divide with 10s and 100s
- ability to perform these operations using American money and weight, volume, and distance measurements
- ability to apply commonsense understanding to follow detailed instructions
- ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations
Job Duties
- Sorts, counts, folds, marks, or carries linens
- makes beds
- replenishes supplies such as drinking glasses and writing supplies
- cleans corridors and stairways
- sweeps and scrubs bathroom floors
- cleans rugs, carpets, upholstered furniture, and draperies
- dusts furniture
- washes walls, ceiling, and woodwork
- washes windows, door panels, and sills
- empties wastebaskets and cleans ashtrays
- transports trash and waste to disposal area
- replenishes bathroom supplies
- replaces light bulbs
- scrubs bathroom vanity, toilet, mirrors, walls and bathroom fan
- completes a quality check on the television, telephone, AC and smoke detectors
- removes any items left behind from room and takes to lost and found with proper documentation
- reports any maintenance related problems to the maintenance department
- responsible for careful and efficient use of supplies issued for cleaning and maintenance
- wears proper uniform including nametag at all times
- achieves score of 90 percent or higher on room inspections
- gives acknowledgment and a pleasant greeting to every guest
- demonstrates thorough knowledge of in-house products and local area information to assist guests
- displays organizational skills when stocking cart and timely cart stocking after completing rooms
- maintains cleanliness of commercial area as a team effort
- responds timely within 10 minutes to guest needs for housekeeping supplies
- uses guest name at all times upon entering occupied room
- resolves customer problems efficiently
- checks all vacant rooms daily to ensure status is correct
- maintains storerooms in clean, neat and organized state
- displays team attitude and assists co-workers when needed
- assists other room attendants upon completion of tasks
